Tamara Mosher-Kuczer is the founder of Lighthouse Immigration Law in Ottawa, Ontario, where she practices exclusively in the areas of citizenship and immigration law. Tamara has experience representing hospitals in obtaining Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs) in support of work permits for physicians and nurses, and she has also assisted physicians and nurses with obtaining work permits and permanent residence. Tamara’s experience representing international medical practitioners has provided her with insight into the numerous issues faced by foreign nationals in navigating these complicated processes.
Frustrated by the many barriers faced by international medical practitioners, Tamara has been a vocal advocate to the Federal and Ontario provincial government of the changes required to make the process easier for international medical practitioners. In particular, Tamara has advocated for changes to the Federal and Ontario provincial government’s guidelines and regulations regarding employment which exclude fee-for-service physicians.
Tamara has been designated as a Certified Specialist in Immigration and Citizenship Law by the Law Society of Ontario. Tamara is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) Immigration Section, the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association (CILA), and the Ottawa Immigration Bar. Tamara is currently the CBA Immigration Section Executive’s inaugural IRCC Portal Coordinator. Tamara previously served as the CBA Immigration Section’s External Relations Coordinator from 2016-2018. Tamara is a frequent speaker at conferences and events for the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association.
