After six years of advancing health equity for newcomers and supporting the employment of internationally educated health professionals (IEHPs), N4’s work under IRCC’s System Delivery Improvement agreement has come to an end.
What began as a concept grew into a pan-Canadian community of over 10,000 professionals committed to improving newcomer outcomes. Together, we’ve raised awareness, developed innovative tools, and created lasting change.
Through our Community of Practice model, specialized training programs, and digital platform, we’ve supported over 300 organizations and empowered thousands of professionals. This impact was made possible by our dedicated stakeholders—our Advisory Committee, CoP Steering Committee, educational partner Saint Paul University, working groups, subject matter experts, and guest speakers. Thank you for your invaluable contributions.
While our funding has ended, our commitment to meaningful change continues. To support this transition, our existing platform content—including tools, recorded learning events, and curated intersectoral resources—will remain accessible for six months as we work with partners to secure its long-term availability. We will also complete key knowledge mobilization efforts to ensure insights on refugee health coverage, mass arrivals, and TB treatment barriers reach decision-makers.
Though this chapter is closing, the need for newcomer equity in healthcare remains critical. We urge you to continue advocating, collaborating, and driving this work forward.
With gratitude,
The N4 Team
