Fostering Canadian Integration for IEHPs: From Learning to Action
This 12-week program is designed to accompany and support IEHPs with the challenges of finding their place in Canada. It is based on an integrated development model that focuses on knowledge, skills and identity-making.
The program's content will allow you to develop non-clinical skills and knowledge to support your successful integration in Canada while forming a learning community through exercises of personal development and reflective practice (circle of support, reflective learning journals, discussion forums). It is training that welcomes you and helps you leverage your expertise in a new cultural context.
September to December 2023 · Free (funded by IRCC) · Certificate of Attendance · Limited Spots · 100% Online · Peer-to-Peer Mentorship · Live Sessions (recorded for watching anytime, anywhere)

What governs how complex issues like MAiD and abortion are discussed appropriately? This webinar will include an ethicist’s presentation on the legal and ethical frameworks for decision-making and the roles and responsibilities of health professionals. There will be small group discussion of cases to explore these challenges and their management. Group reflections be guided and facilitated by experienced ethics coaches. Assessments as Information: A Solutions Perspective on Competency Equivalent Evaluations of Internationally Educated Nurses
During a time when we could no longer ignore an inevitable nurse shortage crisis, the pandemic shifted the perception of assessments, particularly those designed to assess competency equivalence, from gatekeepers of public protection to ironically barriers to public protection. In our current post-pandemic climate where the nurse shortage still exists and much emphasis has been placed on IENs as a key resource, the time is ripe to once again shift our thinking surrounding assessments. We invite you to this webinar as we begin to reframe thinking surrounding assessments within an IEN landscape to that of a solutions-based model.
