IFCNA was established in 2019 by its Founding Chairman Austine Gaqui who started, formed, and conceptualized the said organization with the guidance of his 8 Co-Founders who were called the Council of Leaders who will oversee the proper enforcement of the policies through the board of directors. The organization aims to create an excellent atmosphere that will foster unity among Filipino-Canadian nursing graduates and their associate members, and promote the "Bayanihan" culture in helping Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) who want to practice nursing in Canada. The organization was officially registered as a Federally Not-For-Profit Organization in Canada on April 2, 2019, now in its 5 years with 4,500 and growing, strong, and united members who are Filipino and Filipino-Canadian internationally educated and trained nurses.
