Since our last post on the topic of racial discrimination, we have seen more organizations and individuals making firm public commitments to ending racism. Here are some ways that N4 and our partners are taking concrete actions:
- N4 has compiled several resources and e-Learning courses on racism for members to assist you in knowledge development and in spreading this important work across Canada.
- N4 will soon launch two forums where you can share how you and your organizations are addressing the issues...

June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Our elderly population are often victims of neglect and abuse, but the COVID-19 pandemic has been even harder on them having claimed the lives of countless members of older persons. We must continue to raise awareness of the signs of elder abuse, neglect and mistreatment.
Older persons are particularly at risk of discrimination during this difficult time, as they are isolated and vulnerable, often far away from their loved ones and their social network....

World Refugee Day, June 20, raises public awareness and commemorates the courage and resilience of nearly 60 million refugees worldwide, who have had to flee their homelands because of conflict or environmental disasters.
Each day thousands more refugees are added to this list as so many more are forced to flee their homes, leaving behind many loved ones and having little or no possessions with them. They suffer trauma, loss, violence, disease, malnutrition, cold, and mistreatment.

SPU Partners with CHEO to Deliver Program for Professionals Who Support Newcomers to Canada

The School of Ethics, Social Justice and Public Service has partnered with the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) to develop the new National Newcomer Navigation Network (N4) Online Program.
